The Netherlands is providing structural bilateral assistance to 22 countries. It is also working with around 30 countries in specific sectors: the environment, the economy, human rights, peacebuilding, and good governance. The Dutch Government allocates 0.8% of the country's GNP to its development cooperation budget. Some of the money goes to governments, some to multilateral organisations (including the UN), and some to nongovernmental organisations.
